Sawdust Pellet Machine
The sawdust pellet machine features an optimized structure specially designed for coarse-fiber, non-adhesive wood materials such as pine, poplar and mixed hardwood sawdust, wood shavings and wood flour. Its compression ratio is redesigned based on die-roller extrusion mechanics, so no extra binders are needed and dry raw materials can be directly formed into pellets. Capable of non-stop 24-hour continuous operation, this dedicated model is tailor-made to solve pelleting challenges of waste residues from wood processing factories.
Compatible Raw Materials
Core Main Raw Materials
Pine sawdust, poplar wood shavings, birch wood flour, crushed fruit tree scraps, mixed hardwood offcuts, sawdust from furniture factories, wood dust from panel plants, bamboo dust, and pulverized branch powder. The moisture content of raw materials should be controlled between 12% and 18%. It adopts a dry-in dry-out process without deep drying treatment.
Minor Blending Additives
Small amounts of rice husk and ground peanut shells can be mixed in. Large quantities of high-fiber straw and forage are prohibited, to prevent mismatching with the machine's special structural design dedicated solely to sawdust processing.
Core Structural Improvements
Vertical Feeding & Anti-Tangling Design
This machine adopts vertical gravity feeding, where raw materials drop straight down into the extrusion zone by their own weight. The stirring teeth are finished with curved anti-tangling profiling, so long wood shavings and crushed fine branches will not wrap around the shaft. It supports dozens of hours of uninterrupted feeding with rare blockages or shutdowns caused by material jams. Equipped with a variable-frequency automatic feeding system, the feed speed synchronizes in real time with the main motor current. Minor fluctuations in raw material moisture will not trigger material clogging, and a single novice operator can oversee the entire unit independently.
Wood-Specific Heat Treatment for Ring Dies and Press Rollers
The ring dies undergo vacuum carburizing and quenching treatment, with polished inner die holes that allow smooth extrusion of sawdust and reduce carbon buildup and hole blockages. Press rollers are thickened and widened to expand pressure-bearing surfaces, with reinforced wear-resistant layers optimized for the high-pressure extrusion conditions of wood materials. When continuously processing mixed hardwood, the service life of the dies is over 60% longer than that of universal biomass pellet machines, generating substantial savings on wear part expenses annually. In addition, the ring die features a quick-release hoop structure; full machine disassembly is unnecessary, and die replacement can be completed within half an hour to minimize production downtime.
Hardened Gear Transmission Reduces Power Consumption Per Ton
The unit is fitted with an integrated hardened surface gearbox delivering a transmission efficiency of 98% with nearly zero power loss. At identical output capacity, power consumption per ton of sawdust is 8–12 kWh lower than equivalent-size universal biomass pellet mills. For year-round continuous production, the electricity cost gap becomes highly significant. A circulating dilute oil lubrication system maintains stable oil temperatures even under prolonged full-load operation, preventing bearing failure from overheating and suiting round-the-clock three-shift continuous production.
Relaxed Raw Material Moisture Requirements to Cut Drying Investment
This sawdust-dedicated machine features an optimized friction heating structure that generates heat via self-friction between compressed wood fibers. Stable pelleting is achievable with raw material moisture content ranging from 10% to 20%. Fresh wet sawdust from furniture factories only requires one or two days of natural air-drying before processing, eliminating the need for additional large drying equipment and drastically lowering upfront plant equipment investment.
Applications of Finished Pellets
Wood pellets produced by this machine boast a density of 1.2–1.4 g/cm³, high calorific value, low ash content and nearly smoke-free combustion, with quality far superior to straw fuel pellets.
Industrial heating fuel
A coal substitute for steam boilers, hot water boilers, drying kilns, food processing plants, paint baking factories and building material manufacturers, complying with environmental emission standards.
Residential heating fuel
For biomass heating stoves, homestays, community centralized heating and constant-temperature heating of greenhouses.
Commercial fuel for external sales
Sawdust pellets are mainstream high-demand commodities on the market and sold in bulk to biomass power plants and fuel traders. They command higher prices than straw pellets with greater profit margins.
Raw material for deep processing
They can be further processed into semi-finished charcoal, mushroom cultivation substrates and organic fertilizer granules, enabling multi-level revenue generation from wood waste.
Coarse-fiber materials such as sawdust, wood flour, wood shavings and fruit shells, as well as crop straws are difficult to pelletize. Conventional pellet mills deliver poor forming performance with high power consumption. Our Sawdust Pellet Machine features high extrusion pressure, high pellet forming rate and large output capacity. It is widely adopted in biomass fuel plants, power plants, timber mills, furniture factories, fertilizer plants, chemical factories and other industrial sectors.
